YO. I had the lovely revelation just now that the equally lovely Emily of Knit me a perfect world has nominated me for the Shine On Award. I have to admit that much like the Liebster award I had no idea this exsisted, but anyway, I have been nominated! And so I must do the following…
- Link back to the blogger who nominated you.
- Post the badge on your blog.
- Answer the questions posed to you.
- Nominate five bloggers who shine a little light in your day and be sure to notify them.
- Issue ten questions you’d like them to answer
Here are Emily’s ten questions, and my answers…
If you could sum yourself up into 3 words, what will they be?
Creative, dreamy, weird.
Fashion-wise, do you prefer “vintage” or “modern”?
Vintage, in the sense of styles from the past like flapper dresses and velvet, because I like to pretend I am in a period drama and it suits my hair (when it is more ringlets than useless fuzz).
Who is your fashion icon?
Iris Apfel forever. Let me illustrate why…
found here
She is 91, a interior designer, and a probably landed on this earth from a vortex from a land of expessive awsomeness. I love her. Her glasses, her attitude. her EXSISTENCE. And she hoasted a assembly type thing at the MET in her hometown New York with Tavi Geverson! Coolness overload, non?
What is your favourite type of music?
Floaty pop, indie rock and the occasional folk.
Who is your favourite band/singer?
Soo hard. Its a toss up between Marina and the Diamonds, Lana Del Ray, Grimes and First Aid Kit. They are all total style icons, but I discovered that AFTER hearing their songs.
If you ever got the chance to live anywhere you wanted with whoever you wanted, where would it be and who with?
In a little cottage all alone in the New Forrest with a mix of the fictional characters Peeta Mellark and Edward Cullen.
Who is your favourite author?
I’m going to say Jaquline Wilson, for introducing me to the wonderful world of reading.
What is your favourite food?
AHGGGGGGGHH….cheesecake, sushi, stir fry, pizza, chocolate and anything prawn based. I’m sorry, that descion is IMPOSSIBLE!
What would your ideal partner look like?
See question 6. Wearing Meadham Kirchhoff men’s!
What is your opinion on the introduction of plus-size models to the fashion industry?
I don’t think there should be an ‘introduction’ of plus sized models, I think they should of been part of modelling since it really began. But I am all for it, and don’t see why any non- misogynist wouldn’t be! Also, I know they are called plus-size as a comparison to the normal model build, but I personally think it makes more sense to call the average model ‘minus-size’, because the percieved plus-size is more relevant to the average woman and consumer.
Ok, here are my darlings I am nominating…
2. Okaay Then
And here are the questions…
Where do you see yourself in ten years time?
What was the last thing you watched, ate and read?
What are your views and opinions on Feminism?
If you had to choose a designer or a shop to dress you forever who would you choose and why?
What inspired you to begin blogging?
Whats your favourite piece of clothing in your wardrobe?
What was the best adventure you have ever had?
Favourite quote ever and why?
Most embarrasing moment ever?
Period in History you would most like to visit for a day?
1 DAY LATER: Ok I have just discovered that the HA HA HA HALARIOUS Mia of OkaayThen (who, by the way, is the owner of a very twisted mind that is satisfying to read the musings of on her blog. You should totally check her out) has also nominated me for Shine On Award AND Libester Award, so I will answer her questions on either, but I have already nominated people (including her, for the Shine On award) for both awards, so I will only be answering her questions.
Top 10 most influential things in your life?
My family, Rookie Yearbook, Tumblr, School, My friends, Blogs….I’m stumped.
(Practical) plan for the future and your dream one?
Practical: Get through GSCEs (Art, Geography, Texiles and History), do Art and History A Levels, go to Cardiff Uni, meet a nice dude, have fun with this nice dude, have a cute house somewhere cool, work in some kind of creative, fashion based job, have kids, hopefully continuing this blog all the way through.
Dream: Same as above, really, except my job would be a MEGA FASHION EDITOR TYPE PERSON and I would have a wardrobe the size of my current house. Oh, and a cat.
Dream holiday?
What are you doing at the moment?
Licking cheesecake (raspberry and chocolate made by yours truly) of the plate and typing THIS!
Favourite person in your family?
My fluffy cat, Ruby, who waits for me outside the bathroom every night and then sleeps on my head snoring until she is carried down by my dad when he goes to bed.
Real thoughts on everyone in your friendship group?
Haha… Some truly lovely, kind caring people who I have mega lolz with and who I enjoy spending the days with, some nice people who I don’t connect with on the same level but like to talk to, and one or two people who I don’t particuarly like but get along with for the sake of everyone elses comfort and I don’t really pay much attention to.
Got a bucket list?
Just to try hard and decide to be happy
DO YOU LIKE CHEESE?
ONLY MELTED!
If there is one thing you absolutely have to do in your life, what is it?
Have a child. *gag*
Favourite colour?
PURPLE. NO, TURQUOISE. NO, NO…SILVER. WAIT! NOO… Purple.
Thank you to those who nominated me, internet hugs and pixel kisses all round!

I love all of your answers!! Also, I LOVE your name, and I’ve loved it since i have a huge girl-crush on Orla Gartland: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQazxip0aBM
also, your hair is FAB :)
Ohh thank you sooo much, I love your blog soo much and your name ever since I began watching merlin! Xxxx
I love your answers! And you really surprised me with your fashion icon! I heard of her in the past but I didn’t know that much about her. She looks good for 91! I totally agree with what you said about the plus-sized models as well! I think that they are the “true” women, the women who are right to love their curves and give other curvy women confidence too! AND YOU NOMINATED ME! AAAWWWWW! ANOTHER NOMINATION! Thankyou! I’ll have to do it tomorrow though! It’s a bit late now xxxxx
Thank you! Haha yeah a 91 year old isn’t a usual thirteen year old girls style icon! And yes I completly agree with your views on ‘plus size’ models, anyone who is healthy and embraces their natural shape is gorgeous in my book! Xxx
